Cloud Wars, New Boston Omaha COO(Issue #44)
Recent Update:
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG — $1.13t) Google Cloud which is what I among many others believe to be the main future and essential growth engine for the company is making a strategic alliance with the Kuwaiti government. This alliance is to help digitize the country’s public sector. Kuwait is one of many gulf states trying to use digitization to increase efficiency within the country and lessen its dependency on oil.
Now here’s the key point, Kuwait chose Google Cloud for secure cloud storage of important government information (among other services). The security of Google Cloud especially compared to Azure and AWS is a key selling point. This stems from how this newer cloud was set up and the product is higher security to all users across the platform. As the “cloud wars” progress this will play a crucial role in who fairs the best.
Boston Omaha (NYSE: BOC — $796.51m) announced a new COO, Frank Dejoy, for their broadband subsidiary.
